Combine this set with the Hipster[Light Leaks] set, and you’re well on your way to making your crisp modern perfect shots look hip, retro, vintage, and aged!

Only the actions compatible with these versions are installed!
Depending on your version of Photoshop Elements, the Hipster[Vintage Kit] will add up to 12 action effects. Actions in this set were created specifically for Photoshop Elements users, and they will also work in Photoshop CS3 or greater:
- Black & White (Adjustment layer – Elements 11 & Photoshop) creates an adjustment layer using the Black & White dialog. Note that the parameters of the adjustment are not editable once committed. If something isn’t quite right, you can simply run the action again to create a new adjustment and make changes as needed. Also, this dialog allows you the option to save and load additional presets.
- Blurry Edges (Photo Effect – all Photoshop & Elements versions) creates a merged temp layer and blurs it, then creates a mask to allow the depth and intensity of the blur to be edited later.
- Color Balance (Adjustment layer – Elements 11 & Photoshop) creates an adjustment layer using the Color Balance dialog. Note that the parameters of the adjustment are not editable once committed. If something isn’t quite right, you can simply run the action again to create a new adjustment and make changes as needed.
- Crop Script (includes javascript) It’s very important that the script be installed exactly as the instructions indicate. The installer will put it exactly where it needs to go, so be sure to follow the installation instructions if you order the manual install version
- Exposure (Adjustment layer – Elements 11 & Photoshop) creates an adjustment layer using the Exposure dialog. Note that the parameters of the adjustment are not editable once committed. If something isn’t quite right, you can simply run the action again to create a new adjustment and make changes as needed. Also, this dialog allows you the option to save and load additional presets.
- Focal Point – Horizontal (Photo Effect – all Photoshop & Elements versions) creates a tilt-shift effect, with a horizontal band of your image in focus and the edges blurred.
- Focal Point – Vertical (Photo Effect – all Photoshop & Elements versions) creates a tilt-shift effect, with a vertical band of your image in focus and the edges blurred.
- Instamat Frame (Photo Effect – all Photoshop & Elements versions) creates an instamatic-style frame around your image – Insta-retro!
- Selective Color (Adjustment layer – Elements 11 & Photoshop) creates an adjustment layer using the Selective Color dialog. Note that the parameters of the adjustment are not editable once committed. If something isn’t quite right, you can simply run the action again to create a new adjustment and make changes as needed. - Snapshot Frame – Rounded (Photo Effect – all Photoshop & Elements versions) Creates a white frame on its own layer that is fully editable when the action completes: add some texture, change the color, adjust opacity or blend mode.

Add-O-Matic is now in its 7th edition, starting way back for Photoshop Elements 5, and is still the most popular Elements utility available! 
Here’s the Hipster[vintage] Kit I’ve been posting about for the past few weeks. This is the first little bit of it; the Adjustment Layer actions, a blurred focal point action, a vignette action, a few Instamatic-type frames and the crop square script.

A fun secret about Photoshop Elements 11: some Photoshop Adjustment Layers can be used in Elements!
Specifically, Black and White, Color Balance, Exposure and Selective Color adjustments can be added with the actions downloadable below. Note that these will only be available for limited time! They will be included in the updated Handy Actions set early in 2013. Add-O-Matic will be updated to allow for sharing and loading presets that these adjustment layers create. (AOM already supports Channel Mixer- .cha – and Curves – .acv – files, as well as Lightroom presets.)
These actions are going to be an integral part of the new line of actions from the Graffishop, starting with Hipster (look for it in January 2013)
