Christmas Eve.

Posted on: Dec 24th 2008 | Posted by: Graffi

and

it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.  This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.  So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.

So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.  And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were sore afraid.

thenthe angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be a sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

4 - Vertical bands Splitter action

Posted on: Dec 18th 2008 | Posted by: Graffi

Wow, these splitter actions could go on forever - next, maybe 5, 7, 10 splits..?

(I actually have one already in Fun Foto FX called "Nice Slicer" that splits your image 25 times..!)

add-o-friendlyAnyway, like the others, it leaves each slice on its own layer, so you can colorize each differently, maneuver them around into different positions, add a stroke (a stroke layer is already included in the action), remove or replace the slices with slices from other images -

It’s limitless what you can do.  Have fun!

Latest Images from the Elements Techniques pool on Flickr

ThinkAware has added a photo to the Flickr Photoshop Elements Techniques pool:

Across the street from the entrance to our neighborhood is this picturesque horse farm. The horses that are boarded here roam the rolling fields, splash around in the pond, and congregate around the barn. They are also spoiled rotten, and get lots of attention from the neighborhood families. They run over like dogs to be petted when people approach the fence. These days they are wearing their winter coats (yes, actual coats). They are living it up over there!

A quick painting to get used to Photoshop Elements 7 (previously used 5).
I applied the ‘Craquelé’ filter afterwards as experiment.

This is a series of shots I took a few years back of the Riverwalk in San Antonio at Christmas time. I wasn’t real pleased with the outcome at the time because of the wrong exposure and the bluriness of them being hand held shots. I brought them back out the other day and tinkered around with a few filters in Elements. I like them a lot better in their second life.

4- Horizontal Splitter Action

Posted on: Dec 11th 2008 | Posted by: Graffi

This action will divide your image into four evenly-sized horizontal pieces and space them across the canvas, allowing you to tweak and alter and transform them with the various color overlay, saturation and levels adjustments individually, if you desire.

You can also easily change the background layer from the default black to white or another color. Adding drop shadows and/or strokes to the individual pieces is also easily accomplished, as each piece is on its own layer with its own color adjustment layer.

This is the fourth "splitter" action I’ve uploaded - there should be one more, and then I just might bundle them up with an installer for an easy Christmas gift from me to you!

Stay tuned… !
