Anew Sampler Pack for Photoshop Elements 6 (Win) is now ready for free download. This pack contains an effect from each of the full packs - B&W Lab, FunFotoFX, Glam Photo, Handy Actions and Sketchy Paint.  The download includes the installer and an information sheet.

The action effects included are Enlarge 110%, Old Romance, Soft Black & White, Weaver, and Sketch, from the full pack they represent.  Samples of each action are scattered around this post.

This pack can be downloaded below, and it will also be in the Graffishop later.

If you’ve wondered about how easily and quickly the effect packs install into Photoshop Elements 6 and were a bit hesitant about giving them a try, this is a good chance to see for yourself how they work.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

*Also, don’t forget to grab the Handy Actions Lite add-on action Transform Selection, which can be downloaded for free from this post. The Elements 6 version includes an installer for convenience, but there’s also an Elements 5 version that can be added manually, or with the assistance of Add-O-Matic.

The screenshot to the left below shows how and where this pack will show up in Elements 6, and the shot to right is a screen grab of the interface - like it shows, just click “Install ‘em” and it’ll do all the work for you in just a matter of seconds. You’ll even be prompted to either exit and launch Elements 6, or just exit the installer.

SoI saw this effect as a backdrop at a fashion show photo shoot, but the version I saw was done with lots of lights in a grid construction at the back of the stage.

The photos looked pretty cool, so I wanted to create a way to get it into Photoshop.

Here’s my result -a mosaic backdrop texture creator. It’s also seamless, so you can use it as a texture, too - run the action, create a texture from it, save the texture, then run the texture through Add-O-Matic to install.

To use it - just run it and drag your photo elements onto it. Remember that it’s seamless, so you can tile it, too.

Igot an email asking about vignette actions in any of the Action Pack sets, and I realized that I never made any. Kind of surprising, considering how popular they are….

So I went ahead and made some - 9 of them, to be exact. Why go halfway?!

There are 9 actions in the zip file below - 3 each for white vignettes, black vignettes and transparent vignettes, with 5%, 10% and 20% initial values. Feathering is variable - so enjoy!
