2 more Faded Print actions

Posted 4 months, 6 days ago by Graffi | | 380 views | Technorati

add-o-friendlyi’vegot two more actions for you, all wrapped up in a single downloadable zip file.

These emulate the look of an old faded snapshot, using the same Curves preset setting I uploaded a little while back.

The first action (”Faded Print”, shown with a before-and-after split to the left) simply runs the Curves setting and adds a small white border around your image, while the second (”Faded Polaroid Print”, to the right) goes a bit further, slightly rotating the image and adding a moveable drop shadow to it.

(By the way, both of the images were taken this past July 4th in Chicago - probably the best place in the entire US to spend a Fourth of July! There’s nothing like watching fireworks over Lake Michigan with 1.2 million other people!)

Anyway, throw them at your Add-O-Matic and you’ll be fading your images in no time at all. I like to run the Faded Print action twice on some images, to really give it that old faded look. Use some grunge brushes and your eraser to add some blotches where the fade is more pronounced - experiment with them! There’s really no right or wrong way to use them; they’re just tools to get you on your way.
